I just went and posted on his journal. That is absolutely ridiculous! A few people whine about the purity of his vexels? My understanding was always the exact opposite! I thought vectors were the purists? Oh my gosh, the more this goes on the more I realize that NONE of it makes any sense. The only difference is how the damn file is saved.

Oh, and we never said he doesn't BELONG, that's like telling some kid he doesn't belong in a playground. We're simply saying that his work is miscategorised.

If he created what we consider a vexel, sure, go ahead, submit it to the vexel category - in fact, we'd WELCOME you.

I bet you wouldn't hesitate to report miscats for something that CLEARLY isn't vexel (i.e. a photo) - we're just trying to sort out the miscats that are harder to decipher.

The point is, he feels as if he's no longer wanted, if you read his journal. "I have confirmed where my work belongs with ^Jules1983, ^shebid, ^Ikue, `lemontea, `DCZed, `Einion, and even $Moonbeam13, yet I still fight this fight. Unfortunately, from what has already been said, I feel that no matter what the outcome of any new debate over the issue, it will not change the minds of these "vexel purists", and I will never truly feel welcome back to the vexel art gallery."

The problem has been solved already, and yet he feels pressured to leave. You don't find that wrong?

Well, we never forced anyone to change their submissions. Of course, we like to think that people WOULD or would get the message once, say, the definition has been finalised and a more structured definition has been established. I don't see what the big deal is: You wouldn't get butthurt for having a work reported if it was an honest miscat, why should this situation be any different.

The opinion i'm getting from this is that we're forcing him into this. We've not forced him, or anyone, to do shit. At this stage, we're just advocating.

Nothing I say will change your minds, and really, I'm not trying to. This journal was made for all of the people who realize this is getting ridiculous, and know that he belongs as a vexeler. For them to send their love and support when he feels outcasted for a second time.

One last time, I never said that anyone is forcing anyone to do anything. He feels unwelcome. No one should ever have to feel so unwelcome in an art community.

I would, as you said, report a photo in a vexel category, but that is completely different. You're comparing apples to elephants. As I've quoted, it has been agreed upon by many many GMs and seniors, that he does, indeed, make vexels. The matter has already been settled. The entire point of this is that he still belongs, regardless of whatever you feel. The GMs do not want this happening, I'm sure of it.

Argue on, I probably wont reply. Like I said, this is for everyone else who would like to support him.

The message WAS finalized before you decided to make an issue of it. I don't particularly want to argue with you, but I feel I need to respond to at least a few of your misconceptions.
First of all, don't for a second think that I am done fighting for my obvious right to be in vexel, or the fact that I am right about this issue. I realize that you and your friends have already made up some rules for vexel, but that was for another site altogether. This here is DeviantArt.
What I AM doing is PROTECTING my work from you and your friends and your "honest" miscat reporting. You and your friends have absolutely no right to report my work as miscat, nor do you have the right to tell others to do so. YOU ARE WRONG!!! I am simply making sure whatever you get up to, my artwork does not get moved or messed with. I have asked several times for your group to stop your actions at least until all the GM's have spoken (again) on this issue. I am asking you again to stop, but I know you will not.......
Proving my second point.....This you CAN take credit for, I will stay gone because I do not feel that any outcome from any new debates on the issue will change how your group feels.
I didn't start this debate, I was very happily going along creating art for everyone in both vector AND vexel to enjoy. But hear me well, if there is a debate about this issue again, you can certainly look forward to me being there to represent the rules of DeviantArt.
